Intro

So, I am finally getting on the web to "blog." This is a NoH8 space. Fucking with people based on race, creed, color, gender, and you know damn good and well what I mean is prohibited. Be as pissed as you want but do not single out any group or individual in a hateful way.

Are You Fed Up?  was a cable access TV program I developed and hosted for seven years at Multnomah Community TV - now MetroEast TV. What started as a taped show of me yelling and screaming quickly evolved into a live hour-long call-in show. Seriously, so many people suggested doing it live I figured why not. The first night I had a lot of story ideas, aggravating situations, anything to kill time in case I got no calls.

Didn't need it. The phone rang in the first few minutes of monologue and for all intents and purposes, you never heard much from me again. This was truly a show that was of, by, and for the people. The calls really never stopped. I was told by many at the station that  Are You Fed Up? was the most popular. Who knows? Compared to many cable access call-in shows I have watched, none of them had the volume of calls we got.

We, being my gay friend "Pedestrian Pete" who joined me at about 4 years into the show. He co-hosted with me until I was just burned out, had a lot going on, was busy and didn't have the energy any more. These shows take a lot out of you. But more important is we lost the late night slot we had - 10:00 - 11:00 pm - to a 7:00 pm time slot and I really did not want to be conscious about what I said, especially language.

It is an adult show and I did not like being restricted or restricting speech, including "offensive" language. Our tag line, "Where Free Speech is More Than Just an Expression" wasn't as free at 7:00 pm. So I let it go. Actually, I think we may need it more now than before. So I'll do my best here. On (virtual) paper with a (virtual) pen.
